What's the story behind your first handgun? Do you still have it, and does it hold any special memories for you? I remember mine like it was yesterday—would love to hear about yours, too! Feel free to share any pics or stories.
RG23, .22 cal. Paid like $12 for it “new in the box”. Total junk, more dangerous to anyone standing beside it than anyone in front (lousy cylinder timing). I fired a few boxes through it before trading it off (got like $ 8 off on my new $75 PPK/S. Now the PPK (West German made) .380 was a sweetheart
Man, this brings back memories! I remember buying my first handgun, a Ruger SR9 12 yrs ago. I was just 21, fresh out of college, and I had saved up some cash from my very first job. I strolled into a local gun shop with $400 in my pocket, totally clueless about what I was doing. The guy at the counter was super patient with all my silly questions and even let me try out a bunch of different 9mm models.
When I picked up the SR9, it just felt right. The grip was solid, it pointed naturally, and best of all, it was on sale for $380, so it actually fit my budget. I ended up buying it along with two boxes of ammo and walked out of that store grinning like a total goofball
