Removing Taurus 1911 sights

If it's a dovetail, then you can definitely just do it yourself. I’ve tried swapping a few sets on 1911s using a padded vise and a brass punch, and I never had any problems.

Sights can be directional- remove left to right and install right to left. Do NOT use a steel punch and look at the underside of the slide where the sight is mounted to make sure they did not use a set screw to put pressure on the dovetail or screw into the base of the sight.

Don’t try to force the front sights out if it's pinned without using proper tools if you don't have any ideas what you're doing.
