That's an interesting choice of cartridge for the AR. I see that most loading manuals list it capable of 3,000 fps out of a 24" barrel so it will be interesting to see what you can do with it in an AR.
What length barrel do you have? I have 16" and 18" barreled ARs that I shoot in 6mm ARC and with the 85 grain bullets the 18" will only make 2,700 fps

I've loaded 25-45 Sharps before, 87gr bullets are fun to play with. Hitting around 2900 FPS sounds okay..but are you planning to chrono them in different temps to see how velocity shifts, or just test at the range?
