Last deer season, I was in Daniel Boone National Forest. Saw a big 10-point deer at sunrise. My scope got foggy from the cold! I cleaned it fast, shot, and got him. My heart was beating so fast. The reason I wrote this is because I want another 10 point this season.

Great story. I had almost the same thing happen in DBNF, fogged scope and all.

Learned quick to carry an anti-fog cloth in my pack. Nothing gets your heart racing like a big buck stepping out at sunrise. Good luck on another 10-pointer this season.

Damn, that's awesome! Sunrise shots are always intense. Foggy scope, fast clean, and you still nailed him...respect. You got your eye on a particular spot this season, or just gonna hunt wherever luck takes you?

I had the scope on my crossbow fog up on me two years ago on a cool morning with high humidity. Ever since then I keep a small cloth in my pocket during weather conditions as such.

Yeah, same lesson learned. I'll keep a cloth in my pocket this year. Have you found a brand that actually works better for anti-fog, or are all those wipes basically the same?

I apologize for the delay in reply. Been doing a lot of squirrel hunting and bow hunting.

Personally, I’m a fan of Luepold rifle scopes. However, on my air rifle I’m running a Hawke. Both are pretty good about not fogging up. I suppose they still could under adverse conditions.

I was out squirrel hunting this morning. It was light rain conditions. Hawke scope did not fog up but the temps were warm.

I keep a bandana in my pocket in case I need to clear the scope of rain drops and/or fog.

I grabbed my 22.250AI out of my cold basement and ran out to shoot a coyote about a month ago. The second that the warm moist air hit the glass it fogged up so badly that I couldn't clean it to get a shot. Now, I keep the varmint gun in the safe with the golden rod dehumidifier going so that it stays warm.
