So, I’ve been diving into the world of binary triggers and honestly, I’m a bit lost. I moved here not too long ago, and I want to make sure I’m following the rules. I’ve heard mixed things — some say they’re cool, while others act like I’m about to break some major law. It’s a little confusing, right? I was never really into firearms until recently, but I’ve been trying to learn and expand my collection. Anyone out there have any solid info on the legality of these triggers in Kentucky? I could use a hand with this one!

I live just south of Louisville, and they are good to go here. I bought mine from KY Gun Co. Walked right out with it. Fun toy, but you will burn through a case of ammo in a single afternoon.

They’re “legal”, though why you choose to spend even more money on ammo is a question only you can decide. Son had one (Franklin( on a 10/22-reliability was poor and he could literally have bought thousands of reds of .22 for what he paid for it. Also, do NOT ever install one on Anything you may contemplate using as a “defensive” firearm. If you ever actually use it as such the very last thing you’ll need is a prosecutor coming after you for using a “machine gun”🙄

Make sure to stick to well-known brands that offer clear user guides and have easy to use selector switches. And avoid those that come with forced reset triggers. They've been under a lot of scrutiny and have run into some legal troubles.

In Kentucky, there's this state law (KRS 65.870) that basically says local governments can’t make their own rules about guns. This means that no matter where you are in the state, the firearm laws are pretty much the same. It creates a sense of consistency, but it also stirs up some debate about local control and safety.
