Load development for my 44 Magnum 1892. I have several loads worked up, but I am always refining them. I'm currently working on a light magnum load using
Lee's 429-214-SWC, consisting of Magnum cases and 7.5 or 8.0 grains of Bullseye. I aint sure which one shoots the best yet, or if somewhere in between will. I have more testing to do.
I also am going to start testing with the the Lee C429-240-SWC and Lyman 429215. I don't have the 429215, but I have some samples a friend sent me.
Not to mention I have a Lee 429-200-RF I need to try, and probably lap. Best I recall it casts at .4285. Best I recall without my notes, my groove is .4295. I might just jump right to powder coating, but I am a noob to PCing, so it should be lots of fun. I prefer traditional lube, but I have a couple other moulds that would benefit with PCing.
And I'm looking at maybe buying another mould, I want something in the 250 grain range and RF. Probably with a gas check so I can run it through my Flattop blackhawk in 44 Special that is prone to leading. Eh, maybe not. I already got an RCBS 44-240-SWC that is gc for that, and it works just fine.
Which reminds me... I need to do some more load development with that. I got a fine shooting load so far. But really only the one. Everything else has been mediocre.
That's 18 consecutive shots.
