Opening 3 days of the gun season

Saturday was the opening of the gun season. Didn’t see the first deer.

Sunday I killed this buck. Small rack with a fairly good sized body. Not even close to the previous two years bucks, but he was good enough for me this year.

EH has obviously taken its toll on the local deer herd this year. Hard to even find a deer here. So, I felt blessed have even gotten this one.

Went back to my same spot this morning in my ground blind. It was cold and very windy. Glad I took my Buddy heater with me.

About an hour after daylight the snow was coming down sideways. Didn’t take long before the ground was white.

At 0915 this fat doe walked up below me.

End of the Gun Season for this old boy.
