Are you sticking with carbine gas?

Considering how much parts and ammo have evolved, is there any good reason to stick with carbine gas for a typical 16" configuration?

Carbine gas rifles are still common. Mid-length feels smoother to me but if someone already has a working carbine setup, there's no need to worry.

Yeah carbine gas setups work fine, sure. But it feels like we stick with them mostly out of habit. In my experience, mid-length gas systems just run smoother.
