I'm relatively new to concealed carry and looking for some guidance. What 9mm self-defense ammo do you trust? I've heard a lot about hollow points, but I'm curious about what actually performs best in real situations.

There is several good ones to pick from..Federal Hyshok..Hornady critical duty .Speer Gold Dot..Plus several others

I run Hornady Critical Defense in my 9mm. Thankfully, I’ve not had to test its performance in a “real situation”, but I’m confident that center mass hits would be effective in stopping the threat.

When I first started carrying, I ran a bunch of different hollow points through my Glock 19...Hornady Critical Defense, Federal HST, and Speer Gold Dot. The HST fed flawlessly and expanded just right, and after some range time, I stuck with that for everyday carry

Whatever you run, make darn sure it works reliably inYOUR pistol-that means (to me anyway) at least 200 rounds, rapid fire, with nary a hiccup. One single boggle and you either switch ammo and start over or begin a new 2.0 with the same stuff (your call). To me any malfunction is unacceptable of defensive ammo.

The way your gun performs can really depend on the specific model you've got. It’s a good idea to run a few mags through your carry gun. Just to make sure everything's working smoothly.
