I usually hunt with what I shoot. My favorite is a reliable old Marlin 336 in .30-30 that has bagged more whitetails than I can remember, along with a Remington 870 pump that my uncle gave me when I got my first turkey. I'm here to see what others are using and maybe pick up a few tips on long-range shooting, especially since the deer seem to be getting smarter every year. I don’t know much about these newfangled plastic guns, but I’m open to learning. It’s great to find a community of good folks.

Welcome from the Commonwealth, a true 2A sanctuary state. I’ve been hunting for a few years now also. Bolt, pump, lever, black powder, archery etc. I’m a new guy on here also, but more than willing to share knowledge that I have. The Marlin is a good choice, had one or another all my life.
Love a .30 rifle. The wife found this one for me in a left hand Browning Medallion model. 30/06 so can do 99% of hunting around here. But I still like to walkabout and still hunt when the body allows it, I I carry a lever gun for that. When I get cold I jump into one of our shoot houses. We are surrounded by Corps land so have access a lot of land. The lever gun is a Henry in .360 Buckhammer that I scoped for the first time last year. Enjoy, seems like a decent place to hang out. Needs more traffic, but that is up to US.
Regards,
