I’m thinking about taking my little one fishing for the first time, but I’m pretty clueless about the whole process. I want to make it enjoyable and easy, especially since my kid is just 5. I passed by a local sporting goods store and saw some kid-sized fishing rods, but I'm not sure if they're worth it. If you have any go-to setups or advice for someone who's not too experienced, I'd love to hear it. Just looking for something simple that can help us have a fun day by the water!

Cane pole, line, hook, cork (bobber to city folk) , bb size sinkers and worms. Fish from shore on pond or lake. Make a lot of good memories for very few $$

Cane pole, hooks, bobbers and line. Keep it simple. Bobber they can watch, keep it interesting. Most kids have the attention span of a gnat. Let them toss pebbles in the water, bring snacks and let them be kids. Take lots of pictures, they grown up too fast!
