What’s the best lubricant for storing firearms in freezing conditions, grease or oil? I’m curious to know if you’ve seen any effects on performance or corrosion resistance over time.

I use a variety of things, as I like to try different oils. I don't really use my firearms in harsh conditions. Sometimes I'll shoot in a light rain, and I hunt and shoot in the cold sometimes.

I pretty well use EEZOX for wipedown now, though I've used others.

For a while I used Remoil for wipedown, but it let me down, leaving a spot of rust on my Winchester 92. This occurred not under harsh conditions, rather, during wipedown after handling. I still use Remoil for a light lubricant, such as for a 22 semiauto, and as a light cleaning solvent.

Lucas products have proven to be the best for me at this time. Year round, I haven’t noticed any needs to run the guns different like more or less lube.
