Future of small 9mms

With the recent influx of small 9mm pistols this year, is this segment as polished as it can be, or can we expect more advancements in the future?

I’m thinking that we’re about as far as we can go size wise. The limits are tied to the physics required to operate n auto pistol. I’d not expect anything truly “revolutionary like the original P365

Unless someone invents a radically different mechanism we’ve about hit the lower limits of size. Rorbaugh tried but I’m not sure it worked reliably.

Yeah, physics eventually wins.

They’re close, but there’s still room for improvement. Recoil and shootability could get better without making the guns bigger. It feels like we’re just a generation or two away from getting it right.
